Wimbledon - Longest Match

Today was the end of the longest tennis match in history. The 23rd-seeded  John Isner of Tampa, Fla., and qualifier Nicolas Mahut of France played 11 hours and 5 minutes. The match finally ended at 70-68 in the fifth set, after three days, not with the customary handshake between opponents, but with a hug.

NBA Finals - Game 7 Tonight

Tonight is Game 7 of the NBA finals between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics. Boston is aiming for their 18th championship title and the Lakers for their 16th; not to mention Coach Phil Jackson could have his 11th championship if LA wins tonight. This much anticipated game generates excitement for the sport as well as an increase in basketball speakers at conferences.  Some legends and audience favorites include, Phil Jackson, Pat Riley, Bob Love, Pat Croce and Pat Williams.

Hawks win the Stanley Cup

Chicago’s Patrick Kane snuck the puck past Philadelphia’s Michael Leighton last night, giving the Blackhawks an overtime win against the Flyers in Game 6. The final score was 4-3. It’s their first championship since 1961 and the city will celebrate in a big way with a parade on Friday!

The Stanley Cup generates excitement for the sport while increasing the requests for hockey players and coaches as speakers on performance, teamwork, winning and leadership.

Jordan Romero Summits Everest

Last week, 13-year-old Jordan Romero of California became the youngest person ever to summit Mt. Everest.  His goal: to summit the world’s tallest peaks on each of the seven continents.  Mt Everest is number six !!
