Safety

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

We have all heard, and many participated in, “take your child to work day”. In the past few days the questions have been: 1) are there limits to when this is acceptable? 2) how far do you go with letting your child do your job?

An air traffic controller and his supervisor are under investigation because the controller allegedly allowed his children to speak with pilots on an air traffic control frequency. It has been said this incident threatened the Culture of Safety?

If you want to learn how to “Create A Vibrant Safety Culture” in your workplace; contact us at Speak, Inc. to book Richard Hawk.

Team USA Speed Skating – 2010 Olympic Champions

Monday, March 1st, 2010

Congratulations to Team USA who won several medals in Vancouver!

Most notable was Apollo Ohno.  Ohno is now the most-decorated Winter Olympian in U.S. history. Ohno won his 8th medal of his career when he pulled his 5000m relay teammates from 4th position into 3rd place. The media is already speculating as to whether or not he’ll be back in 2014! Hopefully we’ll see him in the Olympics again or maybe he’ll pursue a speaking career as many former speed skaters have done.  A couple of audience favorites include, Dan Jansen and Bonnie Blair.
