Oudin is Out of US Open

The Cinderella Story started when Melanie Oudin, previously ranked 70th, defeated 4th seeded Elena Dementieva and formerly ranked world #1 Maria Sharapova.  Last night the story ended when 9th seeded Caroline Wozniacki defeated Melanie Oudin.

Tonight, Serena Williams plays Kim Clijsters.  Kim Clijsters defeated Serena’s older sister Venus earlier in the tournament.

The excitement of this tournament creates interest in celebrated tennis players such as Billie Jean King, Tracy Austin, Chris Everet, Martina Navratilo and the Williams sisters.
