Larry King Interviewed on Larry King

On May 19th, Larry King switched chairs with Joy Behar, Regis Philbin and Anderson Cooper.  The interviews were to help promote Larry’s new book, My Remarkable Journey, which hit the bookstands May 20th.  

During the interview with Joy Behar, Larry King, Jr., the son Larry did not know he had until he was 33 years old is introduced.  They talk briefly about Larry’s childhood, marriages (including a brief segment with Shawn King, Larry’s current wife) and lifetime experiences.

Next Regis Philbin takes the hosts’ chair.  Their discussion evolves around their parallel careers.  Both were born in New York City during the Depression and pursued careers originally on radio … and look where they are now!

The final interviewer was CNN Anchor, Anderson Cooper.  The two of them conversed about people Larry has interviewed, focusing primarily on prior Presidents: Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton and George Bush.

Susan Boyle Rehearsing for Britain’s Got Talent

Susan Boyle, the 47-year-old Britain’s Got Talent contestant whose performance of “I Dreamed a Dream” has gotten more than 100 million hits on YouTube, will start rehearsing for the semifinal competition starting May 24th.  She will be competing against 40 plus people who also made it through the auditions.

2009 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner

Last weekend was the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner.  The association holds this annual dinner to raise money for WHCA Scholarships and to honor the professional recipients of the WHCA’s Journalism Awards.

The event draws journalists, celebrities and politicians.  Those attending included:  Jon Bon Jovi, Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore, Tyra Banks, Kyra Sedgwick, Kevin Bacon, Mariska Hargitay and Sting, to name a few. Also attending was Richard Phillips, who was held hostage by Somali pirates after his cargo ship was attacked.

President Obama joked about politicians, the press, his family and himself.  Comedienne Wanda Sykes, the featured entertainment, followed him.

We are saddened by the sudden passing of Danny Gans today. He was an extraordinary performer.  Known as the Man of Many Voices, Gans was named Entertainer of the Year for 12 years in a row in Las Vegas. On top of his record-breaking crowds and consistently sold out shows, Gans has been showered with accolades and awards throughout his performing career.  We will miss him ….
